There is a group of people calling saying they are with the City of Albemarle disconnection department. Citizens are being told if they do not call an 888 number and make a payment on their electric bill that their power will be disconnected. That IS NOT THE CASE! Please be aware and do not call!

A fun new recreational option is starting soon. The Parks & Recreation Department is coordinating a Pickleball League to start soon. Signups are starting now! The league will run from October 19th through December 14th.
The City of Albemarle is now accepting applications for: Main Street Manager - Performs responsible promotional, marketing, events planning, and general administrative assistance to support efforts to improve the appearance, vitality, and economic development of downtown Albemarle business district and economic development programs. Responsibilities include executing events and activities, promoting downtown through marketing, public relations, and advertising efforts. Hiring salary is $48,755 annually. Deadline for applications is Friday, October 13, 2017.
