E-Cycle 2019 - Free, Easy Way to Dispose of Your E-Waste
Are you storing a pile of old computers and outdated electronics at the back of your closet? Is your attic filling up with boxes of old documents and records that you no longer need? Now's the time to recycle it! Load up your electronic waste and documents for shredding and head to E-Cycle 2019 to take advantage of convenient, safe and environmentally friendly disposal for FREE!
City of Albemarle residents can dispose of their household electronic waste and personal documents for free at E-Cycle 2019 on Saturday, July 20th from 8 am to 12 pm. The event will be held at the City of Albemarle Parks and Recreation/Jesse F Niven Center located at 1816 East Main St in Albemarle. The event is open to all City of Albemarle residents. Commercial waste is not accepted through this program.
The City of Albemarle is partnering with Waste Management to offer this event as a free and easy way for residents to discard of many types of unwanted, outdated or broken electronic waste they have in their homes. In addition, residents can securely dispose of old documents and records without compromising their personal information by having them shredded onsite at the event. By participating in E-Cycle 2019, residents keep valuable commodities and toxic materials out of our landfill, ensuring they will be reused or recycled instead.
Residents can drop off the following items:
- Computers and peripherals (including monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards)
- Televisions (including flat screen, consoles, large screen and projection TV's)
- Cell Phones (including chargers and cables)
- Electronic Toys and Games
- Fax Machines
- DVD Players, Blu-Ray Players, VHS Players
- Stereo Equipment
- Any Other Household Item with an Electronic Chip or Plug
Document shredding will be provided onsite for secure shredding services for consumers by Iron Mountain.
