We’re thrilled to share that the City of Albemarle has been highlighted in Business North Carolina Magazine for our economic development efforts! The article celebrates the transformative work happening in our city, much of which is guided by the City's Strategic Plan and its goal of Community & Economic Growth Opportunities. Here's how we’re making progress:

 

Albemarle Business Center (ABC): The ABC is aimed at attracting industries that bring careers, not just jobs, to our community. The 282 acre modern industrial park offers robust infrastructure that appeals to industries such as advanced manufacturing, logistics, technology and professional services.

 

Downtown Revitalization: The City’s work to attract Pfeiffer University’s Center for Health Sciences downtown has led new life into our historic downtown, with the renovation of spaces like the Albemarle Hotel and Lowder Hardware building, as well as new restaurants, shops, and residential spaces. The City’s Downtown Catalyst Grant Program also continues to support small businesses in their journey to success.

 

Strategic Beautification & Community Investment: From the new Courthouse Plaza to streetscape enhancements, we’re creating spaces where residents and visitors can gather, enjoy the outdoors, and make memories.

All of this work ties back to the City's Strategic Plan which makes a commitment to facilitating economic opportunities in order to benefit all residents and businesses.
