Pet Adoption Event at Chuck Morehead Park – Saturday, November 8, 2025
ALBEMARLE, NC – Albemarle Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Stanly County Animal Protective Services, invites the community to Pup-a-Palooza, a pet adoption event happening this Saturday, November 8, from 10 AM to Noon at Chuck Morehead Park.
This special event offers the perfect opportunity to meet a loyal companion. Stanly County Animal Protective Services will be on-site with a variety of adorable dogs and cats looking for loving homes. Whether you're ready to adopt or just want to show your support, Pup-a-Palooza is a celebration of new beginnings.
In addition to pet adoptions, attendees can browse local vendors offering pet supplies, treats, and accessories. Visitors will find everything they need to welcome a new best friend home.
New to this year’s event, Forgotten Now, Family Rescue will be offering Operation Warm Up, a seasonal outreach effort to help pet owners prepare for colder weather. With winter approaching, free supplies will be available to Stanly County pet owners, including:
- Free straw for outdoor pet bedding
- Free pet food
- Free vetting vouchers
- Dog house vouchers
These supplies will be available while supplies last.
“We’re thrilled to bring the community together to support the work of Stanly County Animal Protective Services,” said Cindy Burris, Albemarle Parks and Recreation staff. “Every pet deserves a loving home, and events like Pup-a-Palooza help make that possible. We hope families come out, fall in love, and leave with a new companion.”
Everyone is invited to bring family, friends, and neighbors to help give local pets the second chance they deserve. Whether someone adopts or simply attends to show support, their presence makes a difference.
