On Monday, November 10, 2025, the Office of the State Fire Marshal will conduct a routine inspection of fire hydrants across the city. This is a standard procedure to ensure systems are working properly.
During testing, in rare cases you may notice temporary water discoloration. If this happens:
- Run your water for a few minutes — it usually clears up quickly.
- If the discoloration continues, please contact Public Utilities at 704-984-9679 for assistance.
All testing is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. on Monday.
