ALBEMARLE, NC – At approximately 9:17 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025, the Albemarle Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 1500 block of Sunset Avenue.
Upon arrival, fire crews observed smoke and flames coming from the kitchen area of the home. Firefighters acted quickly to initiate a fire attack, conduct search operations, and bring the fire under control. The structure sustained fire damage in the kitchen and smoke damage throughout other areas of the home.
The home was occupied at the time of the incident. A 22-year-old male resident was able to safely evacuate after calling 911.
