The Jesse F. Niven Community Center is home to the administrative office and maintenance operations for Albemarle Parks and Recreation.

This former Army Reserve Base was converted to a Community Center through the federal Lands to Parks Program of the United States of the Interior and the National Parks Service.

The Niven Community Center is also home to the Stanly County Senior Center’s congregate nutrition site and Homes for Hope, a local nonprofit that provides transitional housing to assist motivated people from nontraditional housing to self-sufficiency.

*Curious about having alcohol at your event? Follow this process, which includes securing a One-Time Alcohol license and hiring an off duty officer for the event. These completed items must be uploaded into RecDesk or brought into our office at least 7 days prior to your reservation.

*Hosting a ticketed event? Follow this process and bring or upload finished docs to RecDesk at least 7 days prior to your reservation.

*Refund requests must be submitted in writing.

30 days or more before the reservation date: Full amount paid minus a $10 administrative fee.

29 - 15 days before the reservation date: 50% refund

14 days or less: No refunds will be issued.
