Albemarle residents now have the convenient option of paying their utility bills online. Customers can learn more about this feature on the city’s website. To register for electronic billing, visit the Online Utility Portal, which can be accessed from the Online Bill Payment page.

The process requires residents to create an account on the Online Utility Portal with a valid email address and password. Once logged in, add an Account Number to access electronic billing details and history. Residents with multiple service accounts must add each account number separately. Check to ensure all accounts are added, then enable the Paperless option for each account to receive monthly eBills.

How to Sign Up for Online eBills

Visit “How to Setup Your Online Utility Portal” to register and create an account or make a one-time payment. Select the “Paperless Option” for all service addresses (account numbers) to receive electronic eBill notifications.

Please note:

• Customers with multiple service address must add each account individually to view eBills.
• Email notifications are sent when the eBill is ready for viewing/payment through the Online Utility Portal.

Follow These Steps

1. Click on the Add Account button (see image below). Select the Paperless Option for each account to sign-up for electronic billing.
2. Add individual service addresses.
3. To change eBill status, select the account and toggle to the Paperless eBill indicator, as shown in the example below.

Reminder: There is a separate account number attached to each service address. Customers MUST add all addresses individually and select the “Paperless” option in order to receive the correct eBill for that account.

Once logged into the Online Utility Portal, please remember to check and pay all balances immediately to avoid being disconnected.
